New York: A Sikh doctor in the US has filed a lawsuit against an American medical organisation, in which he allegedly said that  he was denied a neurology job because of his religious appearance.

As reported by local media the complainant named Jaswinder Pal Singh of Kentucky is a licensed and board-certified physician practicing in the area of neurology.

Sikh Coalition a US based Sikh advocacy group has filed the suit yesterday on the behalf of  Mr Singh at US District Court for the Middle District of Tennessee.

Media while quoting the copy of complaint stated that Singh, who sports a turban, was denied a neurology job after the employer and recruiter inquired into his religious appearance.

As part of the 2014 hiring process, the employer Premier Medical Group and its recruiter Arthur Marshall Inc expressed both interest and concern about the way Singh looked, the complaint further alleges.
