Chandigarh, Punjab (April 26, 2012): All India Sikh Students Federation (Peer Mohammad) and Sikhs for Justice (SFJ) demanded that CBI should file additional criminal case against Congress leader Sajjan Kumar for his role in the killings of Gurcharan Singh Rishi, Santokh Singh and Sohan Singh Kohli. On November 01, 1984, Rishi a resident of , Gulab Bagh Colony, village Nawada Nazafgarh Road, New Delhi was thrown into a burning truck by the mob incited by Congress Leaders Sajjan Kumar. Rishi remained bed ridden for 25 years due to burn injuries before succumbing in February 2009. During the attack on Rishi’s home, his uncle Santokh Singh, who was visiting from Bulandshehar, UP was also killed.
According to Karnail Singh Peermohammad, President AISSF, since during the ongoing trial of Sajjan Kumar, CBI’s has investigated and established that Congress leader Sajjan Kumar was directly involved in conspiring and carrying out murderous attacks against Sikhs during November 1984, Federation will approach CBI prosecutor RS Cheema to file additional murder charges against Sajjan Kumar for the deaths of Gurcharan Singh Rishi, Santokh Singh and Sohan Singh Kohli.
In 2008, CBI has already recorded the statement of Gurcharan Singh Rishi who had stated that:
“That on November 01, 1984 at about 8:00 A.M. 1984, I saw Sajjan Kumar M.P outside the house of Kirpa Ram. Sajjan Kumar was addressing a gathering of people which included Kirpa Ram, Palli, Radhe Sham, Parkash Choudary, Sudash Sharma, Satvir Choudary and others. I saw and heard Sajjan Kumar telling the audience that “Main ne app ki suraksha ka poora intezaam kar liya hai. Ab koi Sikh bachne na paye, sab ko maar do. Inhon ne hamari maa Indira Jee ko mara hai. In kutto ko saza milni chahiyay”. Sajjan Kumar then ordered his men to unload and distribute different weapons such as wooden sticks and steel rods among the audience. Sajjan Kumar also ordered Palli, owner of Oil Depot “provide these people with Kerosene Oil so they could burn these Sikhs”.
During 2008, “Rishi” has given a clear statement to CBI in the presence of Advocate Navkiran Singh identifying Sajjan Kumar as the instigator and incitor of attack in which Rishi was burnt and his uncle Santokh Singh was killed, CBI failed to file criminal charges against Sajjan Kumar, added Peermohammad.
Based on CBI’s admission before the court during Sajjan Kumar’s ongoing trial that Congress Party Leaders, Delhi Police and the then government was involved in conspiracy to commit mass killing of Sikhs, AISSF and SFJ will file a PIL petition requesting the court to set up Special Investigation Team (SIT) to investigate and file charges against Congress leaders and police officers for aiding, abetting, conspiring and carrying out attacks on Sikhs during November 1984.
