Pakistan (March 14, 2014): According to certain media reports a Sikh ‘hakeem’ and his assistant have been gunned down in a busy market in Pakistan’s north-west Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
As per information four gunmen stormed hakeem Pramjeet Singh’s clinic in the busy Shabqadar bazaar in Charsadda district on March 14, killing him and his assistant Zahid Khan .
“According to eye witnesses the killers escaped on foot after committing the crime. No group claimed responsibility for the killing” reads a report published in Hindustan Times (HT).
Syed Asghar, father of Zahid Khan, lodged a complaint against unidentified attackers with local police, which later began investigation in the killings.
It is the second such incident in the district this year.
On January 24, Sikh hakeem Bagwan Singh was gunned down in Tangi area.
Local Sikhs have voiced concern over targeted attacks against the Sikhs and demanded protection of their life and property.
