Amritsar, Punjab (April 26, 2013): As per information available with Sikh Siyasat News (SSN) the construction of Saka June 1984 memorial is over and a function shall be held on April 27, 2013 to inaugurate the memorial.
The memorial signified the scarifies of the great Sikh martyrs who laid their lives while defending the sacred shrine from armed attack of Indian Army.
It is notable that in June 1984 the Indian army had invaded about 38 Sikh Gurudwaras, including Sri Darbar Sahib Amritsar, in Punjab and neighbouring states.
It is learnt that on April 25, 2013 the Shiromani Gurudwara Prabhandak Committee began the Akhand Path, which would conclude with a bhog on April 27, 2013 when the memorial will be inaugurated.
The memorial is inside the Golden Temple complex is in form of a Gurdwara with round-the-clock ‘Parkash’ (installation) of Sri Guru Granth Sahib.
