Sikh sangat marks martyrdom day of Khalistan Shaheed Sukhdev Singh Sakhira

Tarn Taran, Punjab: Sikh Sangat today marked 29th martyrdom anniversary of Khalistan Shaheed, Bhai Sukhdev Singh Sakhira. A Shaheedi Samagam was organized by the Sikh Youth Front on this occasion tat village Sakhira near Tarn Taran.

Representatives of various Sikh organizations, including the Sikh Youth Federation Bhindranwale and Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) also participated in this samagam.

Speaking on the occasion Bibi Paramjit Kaur Khalra said that Bhai Sakhira was a gem of Sikh nation, whose brilliance got masked by the government planted black cats.

‘Following the path enlightened by martyrs is our first duty’ she added.

Talking about the hunger strike of Bapu Surat Singh Khalsa, Bibi Paramjit Kaur Khalra issued an appeal to the Sikh masses to unite on a common platform and extend every possible support of Bapu Surat Singh Khalsa. She said that only the unity of Panth could ensure the release of Sikh political prisoners.

President of SYFB, Dr. Gurjinder Singh said that Bhai Sakhira was a pillar of Sikh movement He expressed firmness to continue struggle for establishment of Khalistan despite of unfair conditions.

Sikh Youth Front general secretary S. Papalpreet Singh read out four resolutions that were adopted on this occasion.

In first resolution, the Sikh bodies pledged to make efforts for the appointment of Commission to probe the fake encounters made by Punjab Police in last two decades of 20th century.

The second resolution raised the demand for investigation of increase in property possessed by Bureaucrats after their joining their posts.

The body pledged to make efforts for improvement in financial condition of Farmers of Punjab and to strongly oppose the Land Acquisition Bill in third resolution.

Fourth resolution expressed deep concern over women security in Punjab and decided to chalk out strong planning to ensure women security.

Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) general secretary S. Jaskaran Singh Kahan Singh Wala delivered the message of S. Simranjit Singh Mann to Sikh sangat. S.Mann, in his message, said that the Sikh community could not repay for the sacrifices made by Shaheed Bhai Sukhdev Singh Sakhira and only by making efforts for the establishment of Khalistan, the Sikhs could pay true tribute to their great martyrs.

More than 34 families of Sikh martyrs were honored on this occasion. S. Pritpal Singh of Sikh Youth Front honored Bhai Wariam Singh Sakhira (Brother of Shaheed Bhai Sukhdev Singh Sakhira) with memento of great Sikh of 20th century Sant Gyani Jarnail Singh Ji Khalsa Bhindranwale.

An Amrit Sanchaar program was also organized, in which 60 persons took ‘Pahul of Amrit’.

Bhai Amarjit Singh (Granthi, Sri Harmandir Sahib), Giani Vishal Singh (Kathavachak, Gurudwara Shaheed Ganj Sahib,Amritsar), Bhai Makhan Singh (Hazoori Ragi, Sri Darbar Sahib), Bhai Jaswant Singh (nearby of Bhai Sakhira), Kavishar Bhai Saroop Singh Soorwind, Kavishar Bhai Jaswinder Singh Shant, Dhadi Jatha Raniwalah, Bhai Shamsher Singh Koharhka (Distt. President of SYF, Tarn Taran), Bhai Harkirat Singh of SYF, Bhai Karam Singh Bhoian (Distt. President of SADA), Bhai Rajbir Singh (General Secretary, SYFB (Amritsar)), Bhai Surjit Singh (Distt. President, SYFB (Amritsar)), Bhai Baljit Singh (Urban President, SYFB (Amritsar)), Bhai Tarandeep Singh (Distt, President, SYFB (Amritsar)), Bhai Balwinder Singh (SYFB) etc. were prominent among the leaders present on this occasion.
