Sikh Youth Federation (Bhindranwale) held protest against aquittal of Sajjan Kumar

Amritsar, Punjab (May 15, 2013): It is learnt that on May 14, 2013 members and activists of Sikh Youth Federation (Bhinderanwale) took out a march in protest against the acquittal of Congress leader Sajjan Kumar, one of the organizers of Sikh genocide 1984. Sajjan Kumar was recently acquitted by an Indian court in a dramatic way in a case related to November 1984 Cant Area Sikh massacre.

As per media reprots protesters led by SYF (B) president Bhai Balwant Singh Gopala and former Damdami Taksal leader Bhai Mohkam Singh, marched through various streets and markets of Amritsar raising slogans against Sajjan Kumar and the Indian government.

Later, talking to the media, Bhai Balwant Singh Gopala said that even after 29 years of the massacre, Sikhs had been denied justice.

Bhai Balwant Singh Bopala reportedly said: “We will continue our fight against injustice and keep awakening the government against the injustice meted out to Sikhs”.

Bhai Mohkam Singh said: “The acquittal of Sajjan Kumar has come as a bombshell for the victims of the Sikh genocide 1984.”

He said they were expecting some balm to their wound but after witnessing the acquittal of Sajjan Kumar, they have lost faith on the Indian judicial system.
