Jalandhar/Ludhiana, Punjab (October 07, 2012): According to a recent news report published in “Rozana Ajit” newspaper there is a similarity in the terminology of F.I.Rs registered at different police stations against Akali Dal Panch Pardhani President Bhai Kulbir Singh Barapind and former president Bhai Daljit Singh Bittu that it has raised the suspicion regarding the intentions of the authorities.

“Entire terminology of F.I.Rs registered at Jalandhar and Ludhiana districts are same, only names, addresses and details of police stations are different. It signifies that these arrests are conducted under fixed and calculated policy framed under directions from the top and [even] the terminology was prepared & sent from the top” reads the news report (in Punjabi/Gurmukhi) titled “Whether militancy is resurfacing in Punjab?” published from Jalandhar on October 10, 2012 by Journalist Major Singh.

“It indicates that the Government want to keep them behind the bars at any cost” concludes the news report as regards the arrest of ADPP leaders.

Upon contact Advocate Harpal Singh Cheema, council of arrested ADPP leader, who is also senior leader of the ADPP, sent copies of F.I.Rs to Sikh Siyasat News. An analysis of these documents concurs content of the news report.
