Simranjeet Singh Mann urges Arvind Kejriwal to form People’s Commission on Sikh Genocide 1984

June 20, 2016 | By

Fatehgarh Sahib: Shiromani Akali Dal Amritsar (Mann) chief Simranjeet Singh has asked the Aam Aadmi Party chief and Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal to form a People’s Commission to punish to culprits of Sikh Genocide 1984. S. Mann was reacting to Arvind Kejriwal led Delhi government’s move to publish full page advertisement in various newspapers carrying text of Kejriwal’s letter to Narendra Modi about inefficiency of SIT formed to re-probe cases related to Sikh Genocide 1984.

SAD (Mann) Chief said that instead of seeking permissions of the Narendra Modi led hindutva government to form SIT to re-probe the cases, the Delhi government should appoint a people’s commission comprising three honest judges to hold independent probe of the Sikh genocide of November 1984 and to punish the culprits.

S. Mann welcomed the ‘sentiments’ of the Arvind Kejriwal expressed under the Delhi Government’s advertisement adding that the Delhi govt. should form people’s commission at the earliest possible.

Thirty Years of Impunity and denial of Justice

It is notable that high ups in the Congress party and the Indian administration perpetrated the Sikh genocidal violence against the Sikhs in November 1984, in which thousands of Sikhs were massacred throughout India. Culprits of the genocidal massacres of Nov. 1984 have enjoyed impunity and high political posts during past three decades where as the victims of the massacre were left to perish as the justice was blatantly denied in these cases.

Notably 11 commissions and committees formed by various Indian government to ‘inquire’ into the Sikh carnage of 1984 have failed to deliver justice to the victims and effectiveness of SIT formed by the Indian government in 2015 is also under question.
