New Delhi/ Patiala: Shiromani Akali Dal Amritsar (Mann) chief S. Simranjit Singh Mann was reportedly detained at Indira Gandhi International Airport, Delhi for around five hours on Monday (May 15) morning.

SAD (Mann) leader M P Singh told Sikh Siyasat News that S. Simranjit Singh Mann was detained by Indian authorities this morning ‘without any reason’ at IGI Airport after his arrival from a foreign trip. He said that few days back S. Mann was briefly detained by Indian authorities at Guru Ramdas International Airport, Rajasansi (Amritsar) before his departure.

“S. Mann hold us over phone that he was detained at IGI Airport for about five hours but the authorities did not gave any satisfactory reason for his detention”, said MP Singh.

“S. Mann is now coming to Punjab and our party will discuss this issue soon”, he said while alleging that the Indian government was unduly harassing their party president.
