Ludhiana (October 27, 2009) : Advocate Jaspal Singh Manjhpur served as General Secretary of Sikh Students Federation after it’s reorganization in March 2003. After completion of his studies in 2005 he joined Political party headed by former President of Sikh Students Federation Bhai Daljeet Singh Bittu. Manjhpur is currently working as media committee member of Shiromani Akali Dal (Panch Pardhani) besides holding responsible positions in Youth Akali Dal (Panch Pardhani) and Sikhs for Human Rights. He has been arrested by Punjab Police on 27th August, 2009 on various charges u/secs. 15, 17, 18 and 18B of Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967. He is currently lodged in Ludhiana Jail and is waiting for charges to be leveled upon him by the police in the court so that trial of the case could start.

HE has sent an article to SikhSiyasat Network for publication. In this article he has discussed various activities of Panch Pardhani that are termed as illegal by the Punjab Police and the Government. These activities include opposing vicious activates of dera sauda sirsa, and seeking implementation of edicts of Sri Akal Takht Sahib through peaceful means and the like. On the other hand he has enumerated various illegal activities of the Government and the Police.
