Special CBI Court Convicts Lalu Prasad Yadav In Fourth Fodder Scam Case

Ranchi: Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) Chief and former Chief Minster of Bihar Lalu Prasad Yadav here on Monday was convicted by special CBI court in the fourth case of multi crore fodder scam related to fraudulent withdrawal of Rs 3.13 crore from Dumka treasury in 1990s.

Whereas, his close aide and former chief minister Jagannath Mishra has been acquitted by the court in this case. The conviction of Lalu Yadav comes close to heels, following the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP)’s embarrassing defeat in the recently concluded by-elections in both Bihar and Uttar Pradesh (UP).

The case RC 38A/96 pertains to illegal withdrawal of money from Dumka treasury. The quantum of punishment in the case would be pronounced later. He has been  convicted in four cases of fodder scam so far, media reports said.
