Gurdaspur: The pro-freedom group of the Sikhs Dal Khalsa here on Sunday organised an event on World Human Rights Day (10th December) and expressed solidarity with the victims of state oppression.

During the event Paramjit Singh Mand, chief of Sikh Youth of Punjab while addressing the gathering quoted a documentary prepared by Asian Watch (Human Rights Watch) titled ‘Crises in Punjab’ which was later banned by the Indian State. In his speech he shared an ordeal of a Ludhiana based women and how her husband and brother-in-law were disappeared by Punjab Police and how the state machinery was actively used to harass them and violate their human rights.

“This is only one story out of countless other families ruined by state terrorism,”  he adds.

While concluding his statement he retorted that though they were not present physically at that time, but as a Sikh it is our morally duty to continue our quest and struggle to get justice for the victims of state terrorism.
