Bathinda, Punjab (December 18, 2013): As per media reports Punjab Deputy Chief Minister and President of Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal) Sukhbir Singh Badal said on Dec. 17 that hsi party was always in favour of releasing those, who have completed their sentence.
According to YesPunjab.Com news Sukhbir Singh Badal was interacting with media persons at Lehra Mohabbat (Bathinda) after presiding over Sangat Darshan.
He, however, said that the names of detainees provided by Bhai Gurbaksh Singh relate to other states like Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan.
It is notable that Punjab government and Badal Dal has remained unconcered about the issue of Sikh prisoners whose release is being demanded by Bhai Gurbaksh Singh who is on fast unto death since 14 Nov. 2013.
These Sikh prisoners include Gurmeet Singh, Lakhwinder Singh, Shamsher Singh (all in Burrail Jail since 1993), Lal Singh (arrested in 1992, currently in Nabha Jail), Wariam Singh (arrested in 1990, now in Bans-Bareli Jail) and Gurdeep Singh Khaira (arrested in 1990, now in Gurlarg Jail, Karnatka) – See for More details of these Sikh political prisoners.
