Banned in India, “Dilli 1984” movie released in Canada, USA, UK, Europe and Australia

Canada/ USA: Dilli 1984, a Punjabi film, said to be based on life and struggle of Sikh Genocide survivor Bibi Jagdish Kaur was today released in United Kingdom, Europe, Canada, United States of America and Australia. The movie was eventually banned in India as the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) had denied it clearance certificate that was required for public screening of the movie in India.

Music of Dilli 1984, a movie banned in India, released in Birmingham

Birmingham, United Kingdom (September 09, 2014): The music of Punjabi feature film "Dilli 1984" was recently released in Birmingham. Dilli 1984, a movie that was denied clearance certificate by India's Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) was given music by Gurdeep Mehndi and Harry Sandhu. Daler Mehndi, Gurdeep Mehndi, Jasveer Jassi, Shipra Goyal and Mannu and Sukhminder Singh Hansra have given their voice to the movie songs.

Now India’s CBFC bans Punjabi Movie “Dilli 1984 – Insaaf Di Udeek”

New Delhi, India (August 23, 2014): It is learnt that another Punjabi movie "Insaaf Di Udeek - Dilli 1984" has been denied clearance Certificate by Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). Ashok Gupta, director of the movie told during a press conference that an interview of Sikh Genocide 1984 victims and eye-witness was the main motivation behind the movie.
