Shiv Sena attempted to hold protest march towards Darbar Sahib

Amritsar, Punjab (June 02, 2013): It is learnt that Hindu organization Shiv Sena (Rashtarvadi) took out a march on May 31, 2013 in Amritsar to show their protest against the June 1984 memorial for Sikh martyrs. In June 1984 Indian army had attacked Sri Darbar Sahib and other Sikh Gurdwaras in Punjab and adjoining states.

Sikh body, Dal Khalsa, submits memo to Jathedar Akal Takht on memorial issue

London, United Kingdom (May 07, 2013): According to information shared by Bhai Dabinderjit Singh of Sikh Federation UK, a meeting of various UK Sikh bodies and Gurudwara Committees was held on May 05, 2013 to discuss the issue of opposition to the naming of Saka June 1984 memorial after the name of Sant Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale and other martyrs of June 1984.

Sant Samaj & Damdami Taksal (Chowk Mehta) submitted memorandum to Akal Takhat Jathedar on memorial issue

Amritsar, Punjab (May 06, 2013): The Sant Samaj, led by Damdami Taksal (Chowk Mehta) chief Baba Harman Singh, organized a march from headquarters of Damdami Taksal to Sri Akal Takhat Sahib and submitted a memorandum to the Jathedar of Sri Akal Takhat Sahib.
