Bandi Singhs Rihai Sangharsh Committee has called up a convention on 6 July at village Hassanpur in support of fasting Sikh activist Bapu Surat Singh Khalsa. Bapu Surat Singh is on indefinite hunger strike since January 16.
Sikh political prisoner Bhai Balwant Singh Rajoana was brought to Government Rajindra Hospital, Patiala, in the morning on July 3 after he complained of severe back pain and numbness in his legs.

Fasting Sikh activist Bapu Surat Singh Khalsa who has been on hunger strike for more than 150 days now is reportedly re-shifted to Ludhiana this evening. He was shifted to PGI (Chanidgarh) few days back by the Ludhaina police.
The Ludhiana police is reported to have got Bapu Surat Singh Khasla discharged from DMC Hero Heart Hospital. He is currently being shifted to Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), commonly called PGI Chandigarh under police guard.
There are reports in media that Jail Department has opined that Prof. Devender Pal Singh Bhullar who was transferred to Central Jail (Amritsar) few days back, should not be granted parole at this stage. While the state governments of Punjab and Karnataka have already cleared his jail transfer from Gulbarga jail in Karnataka to Central Jail in Amritsar (Punjab), his jail transferred is delayed by some transportation hurdles.
Sikh political prisoner Gurdeep Singh Khaira, who was lodged at Gulberga jail in Karnataka since 1990, is expected to be transferred to Punjab today. Sources said that all formalities and paperwork was already compete on the part of both state governments – Punjab and Karnataka.
