Thousands attend Antim Ardas of Shaheed Satwant Singh’s father Bapu Tarlok Singh

Gurdaspur, Punjab: Bhog and Antim Ardas of Bapu Tarlok Singh, father of Shaheed Satwatn Singh, was held at on May 18. Thousands of Sikhs gathered at village Aghwan (near Dera Baba Nanak) to pay tributes to Bapu Tarlok Singh.

Representatives of various Sikh organizations, including Dal Khalsa, Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar), Akali Dal Panch Pardhani, Akhand Kirtani Jatha, various factions of Damdami Taksal, Sant Samaj, Panthic Sewa Lehar, Sikh Youth Federation Bhindranwale, Sikh Youth Front, Sikh Youth of Punjab were present during the bhog ceremony. Akal Takht Jathedar Giani Gurbachan Singh, various representatives of Shiromani Akali Dal Badal and SGPC members also attending the bhog.

Most of the speakers were associated with ruling Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal), where as numerous leaders of pro-freedom Sikh groups were not allowed to speak at the pretext of shortage of time.

Dastar was presented to Bapu Tarlok Singh’s son Bhai Gurnam Singh.

During his address Akal Takhat Jathedar Giani Gurbachan Singh said called upon Sikh masses to vow for upholding principles of ‘Guru Granth and Guru Panth’. He said that various Sikh organizations should unite on a single platform to secure release of Sikh political prisoners jailed in India.
