“It’s wonderful news that finally there will be direct flights commenced in November 2019 from London to Amritsar.

The thrice weekly flights, operating between London #Stansted and Amritsar, is welcome news to coincide with the 550th birth anniversary celebrations of Guru Nanak Dev ji.

I’m grateful to Air India and the Indian government for having taken this decision. It’s been a long-standing issue for the Punjabi diaspora and I’d like to commend fellow Parliamentarians, Amritsar Vikas Manch, Seva Trust UK and other organisations who have supported this demand.

I’m sure that with the help of the community, it will be a very successful route.”
