Two granted bail in Raikot case; Release expected soon

Ludhiana, Punjab: On November 11, 2014 Punjab and Haryana High Court granted bail to Bhai Bhag Singh and Bhai Kuljit Singh in a 2009 case.

Duo were booked under FIR No.84 (dated: 29 June, 2009) under sections 120-B,121,121A, 123, 153, 153A of Indian Penal Code (IPC) and sections 10, 11 and 13 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act) and under sections 4 and 5 of Explosive Substance Act, 1908 at police station Raikot, District Ludhiana.

Advocate Jaspal Singh Manjhpur told Sikh Siyasat News (SSN) that both Singhs alongwith Baba Balbir Singh Lammay Jattpuraywale were convicted to 5 years imprisonment on 19 July, 2014 by the Court of Karunesh Kumar, additional Sessions Judge, Ludhiana.

“All three are confined in Central Jail, Ludhiana” said Advocate Manjhour while adding that Bhag Singh and Kuljit Singh will be released after 2-3 days once bail bonds are submitted to the satisfaction of chief Judicial Magistrate, Ludhiana.

It is notable that appeal in this case is still pending before the Punjab and Haryana High court at Chandigarh. Bail application of Baba Balbir Singh Lammay Jattpura will admit in coming days.
