Patiala, Punjab (September 03, 2014): According to sources, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has expelled two local leaders – former district convener Kundan Gogia and Capt Rajpreet Singh Aulakh for anti-party activities.

Aam-Aadmi-PartyPatiala Member of Parliament Dr. Dharamvira Gandhi had highlighted the “poor” conduct of these leaders during the Patiala-Urban byelection. A three-member disciplinary committee headed by Dr Daljeet Singh, Hardeep Singh Kingra and Gulshan Singh decided to expel Kundan Gogia and Capt. Rajpreet Singh Aulakh who were earlier sent a show-cause notice.

A press note issued by the Aam Aadmi Party claimed that the two had confessed they had participated in a protest while party convener Arvind Kejriwal was in the city on August 17 to campaign for party candidate HS Adaltiwala. Gogia said the expulsion has come as no surprise to him. He alleged the party had started started functioning in an arbitrary manner.

“We will meet party founder member Shanti Bhushan and highlight our problems. Senior party leaders have started working in a dictatorial manner. They have become khas aadmi now,” he said. Aulakh claimed that anybody who dared to raise his voice against “selected leaders” was thrown out of the party.
