Khadoor Sahib, Punjab (May 17, 2014): Two times MP and president of Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar), Simran Jeet Singh Mann, ended up at fourth place from Khadoor Sahib Lok Sabha constituency. Votes were counted on 16 May.
Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal) candidate Ranjeet Singh Brahmpura won the election by securing 4.67 lakh (4,67,332) votes.
Congress party’s candidate Harminder Singh Gill lasted at second place with 3.66 lakh (3,66,763) votes.
Aam Aadmi Party’s candidate Bhai Baldeep Singh secured third place with 1.44 lakh (144521) votes.
Simranjeet Singh Mann had won from Tarn Taran Lok Sabha seat (currently Khadoor Shaib seat) in 1989 with record margin. Mann was again elected for the Indian Parliament in 1999 from Sangrur Lok Sabha seat in 1999.
But this time S. Simran Jeet Singh Mann was not able to save his security deposit and secured less than 14 thousand (13,990) votes.
