UKD alleges torture on Harminder Singh Minttoo, Writes to Chief Justice of High Court to ensure medical assistance

London: A UK based Sikh body, United Khalsa Dal, has alleged that the Harminder Singh Mintoo and Gurpreet Singh Gopi who were recently arrested by the Punjab police, were being brutally tortured by the Punjab police. Duo were arrested from Delhi Airport by the Punjab police few days back after they were deported by Thailand authorities.

In a written statement sent to media Loveshinder Singh Dallewal of United Khalsa Dal (UK) alleged that under the directions from Punjab police chief Sumedh Saini, the Punjab police was using third degree torture on Harminder Singh Mintoo and Gurpreet Singh Gopi. He raised apprehensions regarding life and safety of duo.

The statement says that Harminder Singh Mintoo is a heart patient. Dallewal said that the UKD has written a letter to the Chief Justice of Punjab and Haryana High Court seeking directions for presence of specialist doctors during interrogation of Harminder Singh Mintoo.

Meanwhile Indian media reports claim that the revelations made by arrested Khalistan Liberation Force (KLF) chief Harminder Singh Saini alias Mintoo (47) could trigger alert among intelligence agencies in India and abroad.

Media reports quote undisclosed sources in police saying that Harminder Singh Mintoo told the police that the Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) (allegedly) conducted an exclusive training camp for the first time on foreign shores (Thailand) to train militants in bomb-making techniques.
