New York, United States (July 18, 2014): Sikhs for Justice (SFJ) filed a motion asking the Washington court to reject the US Department of State’s “suggestion of immunity” to former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in the pending human rights violation case, a press statement by the group said.
The SFJ understated the July 14 motion of the Sikh rights group is based on that US government’s “suggestion of immunity” to the former PM in a case involving allegations of human rights: (a) contravenes the laws of the United States; (b) violates Jus Congen, a norm of international law; the State department move the SFJ said “shocks the conscience and violates the fundamental policy principle of the United States ie “protecting and promoting human rights”.
