USA: Video showing classmates calling Sikh boy a ‘terrorist’ goes viral

Georgia, US: A Sikh students reportedly captured a video in school bus when other students were bullying him. The video was reportedly recorded by Harsukh Singh, a Sikh student in the US state of Georgia. The video went viral after it was uploaded on video-sharing website YouTube.

The video, which was uploaded on Sunday by a user named “Nagra Nagra”, claims that the Sikh boy being bullied is named Harsukh Singh and is a student at the Chattahoochee Elementary School in Duluth, Georgia, The Inquisitr news portal reported.

In the video, Harsukh remains very calm and composed, even as his schoolmates continue taunting him. At one point though, he does abuse them.

One of the kids is also heard threatening Harsukh when he figures that their act is being recorded. A girl on the bus is seen yelling “Terrorist! Terrorist!” at the boy.

According to the Sikh Coalition, a US based civil rights organization, turbaned Sikh students experience bullying at more than double rate in United States. The Sikh Coalition recently released a report titlted: “Go Home Terrorist”. The report provides detailed analysis and suggestions on the problem of bullying in US schools.
