Hoshiarpur (November 11, 2011): Firing a salvo against the right wing Hindutva extremist group for assaulting Jagtar Singh Hawara, the assassin of late chief minister Beant Singh at Chandigarh court complex, the Dal Khalsa said such hooliganism was intolerable.
In a hard hitting statement, party’s head H S Dhami took strong exception over the manner five alleged activists of Akhail Bhartiya Hindu Suraksha Samiti (ABHSS) led by Ashutosh Gautam and Nishant Sharma attacked Hawara, while he was coming out of court after appearing in one of the case filed against him.
Without mincing words, Dhami described Hawara as a real hero of the Sikh Panth. “These people who had attacked were cowards as they knew well that Hawara was handcuffed. Otherwise, they would not have dared to come close to him let alone assaulting”.
According to Dal Khalsa leader, the attack was pre-planned with a motive to prevent Hawara and his aide Paramjit Singh Bheroa in attending the court hearing in person as the police and intelligence sleuths have already mooted the idea to hold their trial through video conferencing.
Issuing a stern warning to his attackers, Dhami said the attackers and their masters would keep in mind that Sikh Panth knows how to deal with their enemies.
