Lahore/Amritsar: As per media reports, a group of Islamic Scholars visited Kartarpur Sahib on Wednesday (January 1). The group which comprised scholars of different schools of thought said that Kartarpur Corridor is practical demonstration of interfaith harmony and religious freedom.
The group that visited Katarpur Sahib under the leadership of Pakistan Ulema Council Chairman Hafiz Muhammad Tahir Mehmood Ashrafi louded Pakistan government for taking initiative to open Kartarpur Corridor for Sikh pilgrims.
Kartarpur Corridor will prove a milestone and good omen to encourage and strengthen the interfaith harmony, they said.
According to a report in The News teh scholars said that [e]lements plotting against opening of Kartarpur Corridor are ignorant of historical and geographical realities.
A 40-member delegation of leading Ulema, including Mufti Raghib Hussain Naeemi, Allama Afzal Haideri, Allama Abdul Rasheed Turrabi, Mufi Asadullah Farooq, Maulana Zia Madni, Ziaullah Shah Bukhari, Prof Abdul Rahman Ludhianvi, Allama Hussain Akbar, Allama Tahirul Hassan, Maulana Muhammad Khan Leghari and Allama Sajjad Akbar under the leadership of Tahir Mehmood Ashrafi made a visit to Kartarpur Corridor.
