Hondh/Rewari, HARYANA (March 04, 2011): An akhand path for the peace of departed souls started today at the site of Hondh-Chillar carnage in Rewari district of Haryana by the Sikh Sangat. The parkash of Sri Guru Granth Sahib was held after a gap of 26 Years, four months and four days in the Gurudwara Sahib premises of Village Hondh that was destroyed during the Hondh Massacre on 2 November 1984.
The parkash was held at the same place, where it was used to be held earlier, at around 11 am, after holding necessary renovation in the damaged building of the Gurudwara Sahib.
AISSF president Karnail Singh Pir Mohammad, Manwinder Singh Giaspura, Bibi Jagdish Kaur (a key witness in the case against Congress leader Sajjan Kumar), Bhai Santokh Singh Slana (Organizational Secretary , SAD Panch Pardhani), SAD (Badal) leaders Sukhdev Singh Dhinsa and Ratan Singh Ajnala, AISSF secretary Devinder Singh Sodhi, SGPC member from Haryana Jagdish Singh Jhinda, Surjeet Singh (Singh Sabha, Pataudi), Santokh Singh Sahni (President of Gurudwara Singh Sabha, Gurgaon), Jasprit Singh (Student Leader) and Ashok Kumar, Sarpanch of Village Chillar were present on the occasion. Todays ceremony was also attended by former residents of Village Hondh and survivors of the Hondh Massacer; Partarp Singh, Saroop Singh and Joginder Singh.
Haryana police has also installed a police post near Village Hondh.
