Bhai Amrik Singh Ajnala Resigns As Acting Jathedar; Refuses to Comment About Other Acting Jathedars

Amritsar: Two years after he was declared as acting Jathedar of Takht Kesgarh Sahib during 10 November 2015 Panthic Gathering at village Chabba, Bhai Amrik Singh Ajnala announced his resignation. While addressing media persons Bhai Amrik Singh Ajnala said that the incidents of Beadbi of Guru Granth Sahib in 2015 had triggered strong wave of concern in Sikh Panth and a “Sarbat Khalsa” was held, where he was appointed as acting Jathedar of Takht Kesgarh Sahib. He said that after reviewing his work he considers that he not able to fulfil the aspirations of the Sikh Sangat and thus decided to not participate in forthcoming meetings of acting Jathedars. He said that he seeks apology from the Sikh Sangat and he would have no objection if Sangat appoints new Jathedar of Takht Kesgarh Sahib. He said that he won’t make any statement about other acting Jathedars and urged the Sikh sangat.
