British national arrested in Jalandhar for allegedly financing Khalistan groups

Jalandhar/Punjab (October 01, 2012): Certain media sections have reported that a British national Jaswant Singh Ajad has been arrested by Punjab police. Police has alleged that he was financing pro-Khalistan groups.

According to a Press Trust of India (PTI) report Jalandhar Police commissioner Gaurav Yadav told media on October 01, 2012 that Jaswant Singh was arrested last night (September 30, 2012) from Focal Point of Jalandhar City.

According to information the police had arrested Jaswant Singh under sections 120-B (Criminal Conspiracy), 121 (Waging War against the State), 121-A (Conspiracy to Wage War),  Section 25 of Arms Act, Sections 10, 13, 17, 18-B,20, 38, 39 & 40 of the Unlawful Activities Act 1967 for which a case had been registered at Police station Division no. 8 in Jalandhar.
