Dhuri, Punjab: The counting of votes to for Dhuri assembly byelection held on April 11 started today at 8 am at Desh Bhagat College, Bardwal.
FINAL RESULT
Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal)-BJP combine’s candidate Gobind Singh Longowal is heading for clear victory. After eight rounds of victory Gobind Singh Longowal was leading the seat with 47424 votes.
Congress candidate Simar Partap Singh Barnala was trailing at second place with 20,540 votes.
After eight rounds of counting Shiromani Akali Dal Amritsar (Mann) candidate Surjit Singh Kalabola was trailing at third place with 6030 votes.
There were total 12 candidates who contested Dhuri bypass for which polling was held on April 11.
Final results are expected to arrive in few hours.
