Chandigarh: A People’s Commission headed by former Supreme Court of Indian Judge Justice Markandey Katju was appointed by prominent Human Rights’ organisations of Punjab to hold an inquiry into October 14, 2015 police firing at Behbal Kalan. Two Sikh youth, namely Gurjeet Singh of Sarawan village and Krishan Bhagwan Singh of village Niamiwala were killed in police firing.
Justice Markandey Katju held probe into the incident and the commission issued its report in Chandigarh few days back.
