The Dal Khalsa took a dig at Parkash Singh Badal for taking somersault on giving clean chit to retired police officer Mohammad Izhar Alam who was among of the most-cruel officers notorious for the killing of Sikh youth in fake encounters.
In a statement issued here today, Dal Khalsa secretary for human rights Pritpal Singh and spokesperson Kanwar Pal Singh said the U-turn of Badal has once again reflected his opportunistic and unprincipled politics.
They hailed Captain Amrinder Singh for calling Alam and Sumedh Saini as ‘killers of Sikhs’ and said by daring to call ‘tyrant, a tyrant’ Captain has indicated that ‘unlike Badals, he can stand by truth’.
Narrating about the horrific past of Alam and Saini, he said hundreds of Sikhs were tortured and subsequently killed in extra-judicial manner on their orders.
Hitting at Badal for issuing self-contradictory statements about Alam’s role, he said if Badal has any doubt, he should ask his local jathedars’ as most of them had borne the brunt of Alam and his Sena- comprising hard core criminals and renegades.
Issuing a warning to Captain Amrinder Singh, he said “you should also throw-out former DGP SS Virk from your coterie as like Alam and Sumedh Saini, his name too figures in the list of ‘killers of Sikh youth”. “All of them have operated beyond the parameters of the Constitution and the law and are declared violators of human rights”.
The Dal Khalsa leaders said they would be organizing a public convention shortly, where victims of troika’s (Alam-Saini-Virk) repression would be invited to tell their horrific tales and woes. To prick the conscience of Badals, bring awareness amongst the electorate and expose the misdeeds of such officers their group would undertake a March before the assembly elections, said they.
