Jalandhar: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) today (Sept. 17) announced retired Major General of Indian Army, Suresh Khajuriya as its candidate for the Gurdaspur Lok Sabha by-election.
The polling for by-election for Gurdaspur Lok Sabha seat has been scheduled for October 11 and results will be declared on October 15. The seat had fell vacant after demise of BJP MP Vinod Khanna.
Addressing a press conference in Jalandhar, Aam Aadmi Party leaders including Sangrur MP and AAP Punjab president Bhagwant Mann and leader of Opposition Sukhpal Singh Khaira said that the decision to field Suresh Khajuria has been taken after due diligence with the Gurdaspur unit of the party and the Majha region leaders and volunteers.
