Chandigarh: Congress deputy leader in Lok Sabha Capt Amarinder Singh today said that after failing on all other front Punjab’s chief minister Parkash Singh Badal has turned towards ‘panthic agenda. He maintained that Badal’s lien towards ‘Panthic issues’ is result of his failure on the economic and law and order front.
“The choice is between economic progress and development on one side and the panthic agenda on the other,” Capt Amarinder said while addressing workers meeting at Chandigarh.
The former Punjab CM challenged Parkash Singh Badal to list “a single achievement” he could claim credit for.
“Be it the wheat procurement, he (Badal) has failed. Be it law and order, he has failed. Be it economy, he has failed. Be it industry, he has failed. Be it agriculture, he has failed,” claimed Capt. Amrinder.
It is notable that Punjab CM recently raised long pending issues of Punjab, including inclusion of Punjabi speaking areas in to Punjab, inclusion of Chandigarh in Punjab and issue of Punjab’s river water. Badal has also declared step up efforts to get back articles (rare manuscripts and other artifacts) of Sikh Reference Library that were looted by Indian Army during June 1984 attack on Darbar Sahib, Amritsar.
