Indian State forced Kashmiri youth to carry stones instead of laptops: Dal Khalsa tells Narendra Modi

Chandigarh: Dal Khalsa today asked the Indian Prime Minister to explain as to who is responsible for compelling the Kashmiri youth to pick up the stones instead of laptops and books.

Reacting strongly to Narendra Modi’s so-called outreach to Kashmiri people in his speech, party head Harpal Singh Cheema termed PM’s statement nothing but playing with gallery beside aiming to mislead international community.

He further said contrary to the claims of PM, it is the Union of India that has crushed the dreams of Kashimiri people, snatched laptops from hands of its young generation and forced them to pick up stones in their fight for rights, land and dignity. He said the successive governments at Centre and its stooges in the state has worsened the situation either by deceit or brute force.

He said words Insaniyat and Jamhuriyat sounds good but have hollow meaning when spoken by Indian leaders as they had a record of deceit and betrayal.

He said its ironic that the Prime Minister took more than one month to break his shameful silence after 55 deaths, 5500 injured and 150 rendered blind with pellets.

He further said there were reports that certain mischief persons and elements were harassing and humiliating the Sikhs residing in certain rural areas in the valley. Such people engineered by state’s dirty department are hell bent to give bad name to Kashmiri movement for self determination. He appealed to Hurriyat leadership especially veteran leader Geelani Sahib to rein in such unscrupulous elements.
