Amritsar/ Chandigarh: Shiromani Akali Dal Amritsar (Mann) and United Akali Dal (UAD) is going to hold a “seminar” on “Corruption-free, Drugs-free and RSS-free Punjab” in Amritsar on September 09. The exercise is being used an opportunity for inviting the splinter groups of SAD (B), BJP and AAP to join hands.
SAD (A) and UAD leaders have announced to extend the invitation to sacked AAP convenor Sucha Singh Chhotepur, former BJP MP Navjot Sidhu – who has formed ‘fourth front’ along with Ludhiana legislators ‘Bains brothers’ and SAD (B) rebel Pargat Singh; and AAP rebel and Patiala MP Dr. Dharamvir Gandhi.
Interestingly, UAD has also invited Janta Dal (United) leader K. C. Tyagi on the event. Confirming his plan to attend the event K. C. Tyagi said that he has links with Punjab from the days of 1980s-90s movement in Punjab as he had worked with former Indian PM Chandra Shekhar to find solution for the ‘Punjab issue’ in that period.
On being asked about JD (U)’s plans to form or facilitate any political front in Punjab, JD (U) General Secretary said that the party was not decided about it yet.
“I shall attend the event and hold discussions with other participants and JD (U) chief Nitish Kumar would be appeased of the situation”, he added.
United Akali Dal led by Mohkam Singh is looking forward to form an alliance with Janta Dal (United) for Punjab polls 2017.
