Judicial probe about involvement of Bikram Majithia in drug racket is necessary: Dal Khalsa spokesperson

Amritsar, Punjab (January 07, 2014): Kanwar Pal Singh, spokesperson of the Dal Khalsa has stressed on the need of judicial probe into drug racket busted with the arrest of former Punjab cop Jagdish Bhola.

Notably, Jagdish Bhola has alleged that Bikram Majithiya, a cabinet minister and close relative of Punjab’s ruling Badal family, was behind the drugs smuggling and trade in Punjab.

Commenting on the statement of Jagdish Bhola, S. Kanwar Pal Singh of Dal Khalsa said: “[w]hat arrested drug lord Jagdish Bhola has said about the so-called involvement of NRI affairs minister Bikramjit Singh Majithia in the global drug racket, is a matter of serious concern and requires urgent probe by sitting Judge of the P&H High Court”.

“People would like to know, whether the allegations are fake or true. Parkash Singh Badal should shun his old habit of ‘shutting eyes on controversial issues’ and wake up to the demand of the masses. Badal’s stoic silence is sending wrong message”, he added.
