Mann Dal declare not to allow Narindra Modi rally in Punjab

Fatehgarh Sahib, Punjab (February 17, 2014): It is learnt that Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) led by former MP S. Simran Jeet Singh Mann it won’t allow BJP led NDA’s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi to enter Punjab on February 23.
According to The Tribune (TT) S. Mann called Modi “a murderer of Muslims”.
He further said the “communal” Modi Government had uprooted 60,000 Sikhs from Gujarat.

Notably SAD (A) celebrated the birth anniversary of Sant Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale at Fatehgarh Sahib.

Addressing a gathering on the occasion, party president Simranjit Singh Mann said that by inviting Modi, Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal was trying to vitiate communal harmony in the state, he alleged.

“Badal has no right to call himself leader of the Sikhs as he failed to get justice for the 1984 massacre victims during the NDA regime. He did not ensure the release all Sikh detainees languishing in various jails,” S. Mann reportedly added.

He said the UK Government had betrayed the Sikhs by helping the Indira Gandhi Government to conduct attack on Harmandar Sahib, Amritsar.

On the occasion, a resolution was passed demanding that the Unitted Kingdom courts reconsider the punishment awarded to four youths for attacking General KS Brar. SAD (A) also demanded CBI inquiry into the drug trade in Punjab and urged Akal Takht to reject Bikrami Calendar and restore original Nanakshahi Calendar.
