New Delhi, India (May 20, 2014): It is learnt that the Indian President Pranab Mukherjee has invited Narendra Modi to be sworn in as India’s 14th Prime Minister at 6 pm on Monday, May 26.

According to media reports Narendra Modi shared this information with media soon after meeting Pranab Mukherjee at New Delhi based Rashtrapati Bhawan to stake claim to form the next government.
BJP president Rajnath Singh also met the President and handed him a letter of support from 10 allies in the NDA who have won Lok Sabha seats.
The BJP and its allies have won 336 seats in the 543 member Lok Sabha, the biggest mandate in 30 years.
Senior BJP leaders and NDA allies like Ram Vilas Paswan and Hindu extremist outfit Shiv Sena leader – Uddhav Thackeray were at the presidential palace with Rajnath Singh.
The party chief said, “Narendra Modi had said in Hyderabad – Yes we can… As party president, I can say – Yes, he will. We have seen him perform in Gujarat…Our victory is also due to the proven track record of our state governments.”
Mr Singh said 3,000 people are expected to be invited for Mr Modi’s oath taking. Sources have indicated that Mr Modi would like his full cabinet sworn in with him. He has held multiple meetings in Delhi over the last few days to finalise that list.
On Wednesday, Narendra Modi will resign as Gujarat chief minister.
Sikh body Dal Khalsa has already expressed serious concerns over the victory of Narendra Modi. Terming the Hindu supremacist party BJP’s victory as clear expression of radicalization of Indian polity, the Dal Khalsa has called upon all minorities to join hands against rise of majoritarian extremism in India.
