Chandigarh: The election commission of India has announced to hold polling in Punjab on February 04, 2017.
In a press conference held today ECI officials said notification for filing of candidatures would be issued 11 January and nominations may be field till 18 January.

Scrutiny of nominations will be held on 19 January and candidates would be allowed to withdraw their nominations till 21 January. Polling for 117 assembly seats of Punjab will be held on 4 February 2017.
The model code of conduct has turned operative in Punjab and other four states of the sub-continent namely Goa, Manipur, Uttrakhand and Uttar Pradesh.
Counting of votes will be held on 11 March, 2017.
