Amritsar, Punjab: Dal Khalsa today strongly condemned the cold blooded killing of a teenager Suhail Ahmad Sofi in the firing by security forces and registration of case under sedition charges against Kashmir’s veteran Hurriyat leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani.
Sharing their grief with the family members of deceased, the head of Sikh organization H S Dhami said all sugar-coated talks of the Chief Minister of J&K turned out to be a fraud. “Reins of J&K govt are in the hands of New Delhi and this has been proven time and again”.
He said the latest developments were grim reminder of 2010 unrest when the blood of Kashmiri youth was spilled on the streets of valley and pro-freedom leadership was put behind bars. More than hundred youth fell into the bullets of security personal that started with the killing of Tufail Ahmad Mattoo a 17 year old student on June 11 five years ago, said he and added that the killers of those youth who enjoy impunity, were never brought to justice.
It seems that once again, the state’s security machinery is gearing up to repeat the 2010 unrest. The stubborn attitude of the security establishment against the withdrawal of the AFSPA from the valley must be seen in this context, said he.
He said ironically the Indian establishment has not learned any lessons rather it had strengthened its tentacles and might to crush the Kashmiri’s and their aspirations for right-to-self-determination.
In the wake of release of pro-freedom leader Masarat Alam Bhat last month, there was a upheaval in the country. The majority community of India was made to understand that Masarat would be sent back to jail on the first available oppurtunity to satisfy their conscience. “Mufti govt had no choice but to comply with New Delhi orders”.
He said no one was in doubt that the detention of Geelani Sahib and re-arrest of Masarat would not break their resolve, rather it would further strengthen their dedication and commitment towards Kashmir’s
just cause.
