Remembering 1984: Strengthening Sikh Identity Through Our Own History; Dr. Sewak Singh.

On November 5th, 2024, a Smagam was held at Rajouri Garden Gurdwara Sahib in Delhi to mark the Sikh Genocide of 1984. The event brought together various speakers, including Dr. Sewak Singh, who shared his views on the importance of remembering the history of the Sikh community. Dr. Singh emphasized the courage and resilience of Sikh ancestors who fought fiercely to protect humanity and values. He highlighted that their sacrifices form the foundation of the community’s strength today. Dr. Singh stressed the need for Sikhs to preserve and pass on their own history to future generations. He believed that when Sikhs tell their own stories, write their own history, and share it with their children, it will carry more meaning and impact. He cautioned against relying on others, especially those with whom there are differences, to narrate our history, as it may not reflect the true spirit of the community’s struggles and triumphs. Listen this speech and share with others.
