SAD (Badal) targets AAP’s Punjab Dialogue chief Kanwar Sandhu; Seeks apology for terming Punjabis drug addicts

Chandigarh: In a written statement issued today the Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal) alleged that “Punjab Dialogue” exercise by Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) was a crude attempt to befool Punjabis. Ruling Badal Dal said that the Aam Aadmi Party had failed to continue a similar dialogue initiated by it before the Delhi polls and had even put a stop to interactions with the public post government formation.

SAD general secretary Prem Singh Chandumajra said it seemed the AAP, which was controlled by remote control from Delhi, did not know anything about the problems of the people of Punjab as they did not have any dialogue with them. “If the party knew about the problems of Punjabis it would not need to hold any such exercise which was being conducted with an eye on the polls only”, the akali mp said.

Anandpur Sahib MP claimed that the AAP had earlier also tried to copy the Sangat Darshan programmes of chief minister Parkash Singh Badal who believed in “direct dialogue” with the people. “Unfortunately this initiative fizzled away within days because AAP Convenor Arvind Kejriwal was never serious about the exercise or the necessity to have any dialogue with the people due to his dictatorial attitude. Today while Parkash Singh Badal continues with his Sangat Darshan programmes, Arvind Kejriwal has decided to initiate a sham exercise solely with the purpose of fooling the people”, added Chandumajra.

Chandumajra said that the AAP Convenor Arvind Kejriwal to explain his stand on the SYL canal to the people of Punjab. “What will the Punjab Dialogue team ask farmers when their President has lied to them and even back stabbed and betrayed them?” he asked. He said similarly AAP had played havoc with the sentiments of Sikhs by becoming a party to the demolition of the “piau” at the historic Sisganj gurdwara. Kejriwal is yet to apologise for this attack on the Sikh community, he added.

Chandumajra Targets Kanwar Sandhu:

The Anandpur Sahib MP also criticised Punjab Dialogue team head Kanwar Sandhu for allegedly maintaining that Punjabis were drug addicts. Prem Singh Chandumajra said that Kanwar Sandhu should immediately apologise to Punjabis for defaming them worldwide when he as a former journalist knew that it was Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi who had spread this false canard. “By repeating the same verbatim you have proved that your party is virtually a B team of the Congress party”, he said.

Launching another attack on Kanwar Sandhu, Chandumajra said that there was no logic of getting any dialogue conducted by an arm chair journalist who was not observing probity despite having entered public.

He said former journalist Kanwar Sandhu was yet to explain to the people as to why he availed of a medical seat for his son from the NRI quota in the SGPC medical college at Amritsar when he was not an NRI.
