Srinagar: Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah said on Tuesday (March 26) that it was the Sikh community and not Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi who saved Kashmiri students from mob violence in Jammu and other places.
Addressing a gathering of party workers and supporters in Baramulla town, the National Conference leader said: “It was the Sikh community across the country that saved Kashmiri students from mob violence after the Pulwama attack”.
“It was the responsibility of the Modi government to provide protection to the students who were attacked by rightwing extremists in Jammu and other states. Unfortunately, the Modi government did not exist anywhere (where the violence took place).”
