Simranjeet Singh Mann apprehends threat to life from Punjab government

Chandigarh: As per media reports the Shiromani Akali Dal Amritsar (Mann) president Simranjeet Singh Maan has alleged threat to his life from the government of Punjab.

According to a news published by the Punjabi Tribune (June 23, p. 3), a delegation of SAD (Amritsar) met the Punjab Governor Kaptan Singh Solanki and handed him over a memorandum regarding alleged deteriorated law and order situation in the state.

The delegation told Punjab Governor that there was apprehension of physical loss to party leaders and if anything untowards happens with their leaders, the home secretary of Punjab and the state police chief would be directly responsible.

The delegation maintained that the government has turned fearful as from the rise in popularity of the Mann Dal and the government may try to target its leaders out of its frustration.

SAD (Amritsar) general factory Kushal Pal Singh, Iman Singh Mann, Gopal Singh Sidhu and Jaswinder Singh Oberoi were part of the delegation.
