Avtar Singh Khanda’s  mother Charanjit Kaur, along with her daughter, had applied visa to visit England to perform last rites of his departed son. But the British authorities have reportedly inter alia cited Avtar Singh Khanda’s  activism to refuse visas.

Advocate Simranjit Singh has filed a petition in Punjab and Haryana High Court on behalf of Avtar Singh Khanda’s family seeking directions to appropriate Indian authorities to bring back dead body of Avtar Singh Khanda to Punjab. Next date of hearing in this case is 4 August 2023.

Avtar Singh Khanda was active in UK for raising voice for Sikh rights. He was made target of negative propaganda by Indian media on several occasions.
