London: Two hand-written pages of a letter purportedly written by Jagtar Singh Jaggi, a Scottish Sikh detailed by the police and NIA in Indian subcontinent, is released by UK based campaigners.
The letter is posted on social-media, including Twitter and Facebook by #FreeJaggiNow campaigners. The who have been seeking release of Jagtar Singh Jaggi. Jagtar Singh Jaggi is facing allegations in various cases in Punjab.
The letter narrates the horrific accounts of custodial torture to which Jagtar Singh Jaggi was allegedly subjected by the Punjab police.

Notably, Jagtar Singh Jaggi had told his lawyer during a court appearance after his arrest in November 2017 that the Punjab police subjected to custodial torture. Jaggi’s lawyer Advocate Jaspal Singh Manjhpur had requested the court to order independent medical examination of Jagtar Singh Jaggi from aboard of 3 medical experts but the application was not allowed by the court. An appeal was filed in Punjab and Haryana High Court seeking his medical examination but the high court his yet to decide the matter.
