Haryana Minister’s statement an open admission of State patronage to Dera Sauda Sirsa & its followers [Video]

Chandigarh: In a controversial statement, Haryana Minister Ram Bilas Sharma said that section 144 does not apply on devotees of Dera Sauda Sirsa (DSS). Terming controversial Dera Sauda Sirsa Chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim as ‘guru’, the state ministers said he was a ‘big personality’. Ram Bilas Sharma’s statement is an open admission of State patronage to Dera Sauda Sirsa chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim and his followers.

Ram Bilas Sharma said that Dera has been helping the them for years in Beti Bachao, Beti Padao campaign. He said that Dera has done unmatched work for Narindra Modi’s Swachh Bharat campaign.

He said that Haryana government has offered to make available all facilities to the dera premis. On being asked that when section 144 is in operation in Panchkula how Dera followers are gathering there without any restrictions, he said that the section 144 does not apply to the devotion of the Dera followers.

He was responding to queries of Yadwinder Karfew, a reporter/journalist of ABP news channel.
