At global level there has been a wide debate on this issue and international research has repeatedly highlighted the fact that most effective medium of education is the mother language of the child to be educated.

Dr. Joga Singh is Professor and Former head of Department of Linguistics and Punjabi Lexicography at Punjabi University, Patiala. In this episode of Qaumi Masle he stressed that only mother-language should be the medium of Education. To prove his points he referred to international research. He shattered many illusions surrounding mother-language as medium of education.
