The cinematography of Sikh history has been a contentious issue, with significant opposition from the Sikh community, particularly concerning the portrayal of Sikh Gurus, Sahibzadas, GurSikhs, and Shaheeds in films. Sikh Jatha Malwa has been actively engaging in this debate both intellectually and on the ground.
Recently, Sikh Jatha Malwa addressed the issue by writing a letter to approximately 150 individuals involved in the film industry, outlining the reasons why the direct portrayal of Sikh history in films is problematic. To further explore this issue, Sikh Siyasat interviewed Bhai Malkeet Singh Bhawanigarh, a youth author and a sewadar of Sikh Jatha Malwa.
